A Bundle of Energy

Sadie is napping right now and since there’s no guarantee that I will be able to stay awake longer than she will tonight, I thought this would be a great chance for a Sadie update (because this mornings counted for last night and so much has happened in the last six hours). When she wakes up from her nap we are going to head in to the Pumpkin Patch at the high school. I can’t wait to see her face when she sees the pumpkins. She’s probably going to want to take each and every one of them home! She raids Nani’s pumpkin patch regularly and has one small pumpkin that she carries around with her most of the time (it is covered in teeth marks).

This morning we went into town for the quilt fair and Sadie turned into a uncontainable bundle of energy. Had there been walls she would have been bouncing off of them. Since there was only a fence with out a gate she had everyone running to keep up with her.

She was fine as long as no one tried to direct her running, but when we inevitably had to intervene (“Sadie, you can’t go over the bridge and out onto the freeway”) she would have a meltdown. She is getting more and more independent every day and seems to think that we should be okay with her heading down the road on her own to check out the sights in town. She doesn’t even glance back to see where Mommy and Daddy are. We finally took her over to the park so that she could get her wiggles out in a more contained environment. The fire department, highway patrol, sheriff and ambulance service were having a drill there, which was a major highlight of Sadie’s day. She even took Daddy over to show him the trucks.

After that she had Burger King Mac and Cheese for lunch and played a rousing game of peekaboo with Mrs. Bunny. And that leads us up to right now, with her daily nap. She is exhausted from all the running she’s done, although I’m sure she’ll be recharged when she sees the pumpkins. It’s been a busy day!

Oh and before I forget, this dress is a 3T. She just keeps on growing....
